Mid-Year Book Freakout Tag (2018 Edition)

Wow! It has been more than a year since my last mid year book freakout tag! I honestly do not know if the questions change each year so I am just gonna re use the questions I used last year! Let’s Go!

1. Best book you’ve read so far in 2018:

what if its us cover

My answer to this question for this year is definitely going to What If It’s Us by Becky Albertalli & Adam Silvera! They are the book dream team and this book does not dissapont!

2. Best sequel you’ve read so far in 2018:

thrawn alliances cover

I have read numerous sequels this year but Thrawn: Alliances has to take the cake! It continues where Thrawn left off and it did not dissapoint! I really hope there will be a sequel to this book!

3. New release you haven’t read yet, but want to:

people kill people cover

I had the privilege of meeting Ellen Hopkins and getting this book signed and it covers a really heavy topic so I am looking forward to reading this book!

4. Most anticipated release for the second half of the year:

queen of air and darkness cover

Even though I have yet to read Lady Midnight or Lord of Shadows I can not wait to get Queen of Air and Darkness!

5. Biggest disappointment:

the burning maze cover

The Burning Maze is probably my only dissapointment that I have read in 2018 so far. I read it cause it was one of my most anticipated reads for this year but I was lost a lot while reading this and there were parts I did not unterstand. I may need to re read this book to completley understand what happened.

6. Biggest surprise:

the complication cover

The Complication is the fnal book in The Program series and I do not know how to place into words what this book, series, and author mean to me! If you have not picked up any of Suzanne’s books you need to like ASAP!

7. Favorite new author. (Debut or new to you):

dear martin cover

I finally met Nic this past September and she is an amazing person and I loved reading Dear Martin and I can not wait for Odd One Out and whatever else she has planned!

8. Newest fictional crush:

city of bones pb cover

I guess for this one I am gonna go with Clary Fray from Cassandra Clare’s books.

9. Newest favorite character:

what if its us cover

For this one I am going to pick Arthur and Ben from What If It’s Us!

10. Book that made you cry:

dear martin cover

Congrats Nic! You made my cry while reading Dear Martin!

11. Book that made you happy:

bridge of clay cover

I have yet to read Bridge of Clay but when I got my ARC of this book it made me happy because I was not expecting to get it!

12. Favorite book to film adaptation you saw this year:

simon vs special edition cover

This one is definitley Simon VS. The Homo Sapiens Agenda (Love, Simon) this was one of my most anticipated book to movie adaptations and it did not dissapont!

13. Favorite review you’ve written this year:

dear martin cover

I didn’t post my review for this book on here but I did post it on Amazon so I guess that counts?

14. Most beautiful book you’ve bought so far this year (or received):

what you hide cover

I mean look at this cover!! It is absolutley beautiful!

15. What books do you need to read by the end of the year?:

Honestly there are TOO MANY to list here but I am gonna go with:

Lady Midnight & Lord of Shadows so I can read Queen of Air and Darkness when it releases later this year!

  1. Yay, I’m so glad to hear that What If It’s Us is so good! I’ve been looking forward to it for months. Out of curiosity, is the title a Dear Evan Hansen reference? Also, out of curiosity, ARCs are something I’m trying to figure out more about and request. Do you have any tips for getting into that?

    1. I don’t know about the title… I could ask them if I remember and get back to you if I remember!! Check out Netgalley, Edelweiss and Goodreads Giveaways!! Also check out your favorite author’s social media and see if they are doing giveaways and follow their publishers to see if they have any extra ARCs to send!! Good Luck!! Let me know how it goes! You could also ask at your local bookstore!

      1. That’s good to know! I’ve been meaning to try out Edelweiss and will totally check out Netgalley and Goodreads Giveaway, too. Thanks for the advice 🙂
