Q&A with Jordan (Page Travels)

GB: Jordan, thank you for agreeing to do this with me!

J: Yes of course! Thank you for asking me!

GB: If you could only read books for the rest of your life in one format which one would it be? Hardcover, Paperback, Audiobook or eBook?

J: Definitely hardcover! They don’t get damaged as easily, and I love how I can read them with or without the dust jacket (which helps for photos too!)

GB: If you were stranded on an island with only one book series? Which series would it be and why? Also, the other of that series is trapped with you.

J: If I could choose, Harry Potter! First of all, there are 7 books, which would at least keep me busy for a while. But most of all it’s because the series, in my opinion, is timeless. Harry, Ron, and Hermione’s story will never grow old to me, and I could definitely live with reading them over and over again until I was saved from the island.

GB: When did you start reading and how did you get into reading?

J: I started reading as soon as I could when I was little. I think the first series I was into was the Magic Tree House books. There were so many of them, and it was my first experience getting to journey to far-away lands through books… That probably explains my love of fantasy now!

GB: When you were growing up which fictional character(s) did you relate to? Which characters do you relate to now?

J: I LOVED Hermione when I was younger, and still do to this day! She’s smart, brave, and isn’t afraid to stand up for herself, qualities I adore seeing in fictional characters.

GB: Do you have any tips to start reading more books?

J: Look for recommendations everywhere! It might be hard to find a book you’re into, but I promise you it’s out there if you look hard enough. Find people who have read books you like and see what else they’re reading, go through reviews on Goodreads… basically just do your research! As for finding time to read, just do it whenever you have a second. It doesn’t matter if you have 5 minutes or 2 hours, pick up a book and read a few pages whenever you can.

GB: Is there a drink or snack you have to have while reading?

J: Not really! I’m usually so focused on reading and I personally can’t eat/drink and read at the same time.

GB: Have you ever been to a book festival ? If so, do you have any tips for people who want to go to some?

J: Yes! I’ve been to YALLWEST for the past 2 years, made a quick stop at the LA Times Festival of Books this year, and will be heading to BookCon in a few weeks! I know it can be hard for people to make it to festivals because traveling is expensive, but seek out events close to you! Even if it’s not a festival or convention, see what authors are going on tour and find a stop near you! If you do want to make it to a festival, find a friend or two who will go with you to make the experience that much more fun! I know when I go to festivals I always have someone I have plans to hang out with.

GB: Thanks for answering my questions and I’m glad we had this opportunity!

J: Yes me too! Thank you!
